SUPPORTING THE GRIDWISE ARCHITECTURE COUNCIL

To support transformation toward the GridWise vision, a framework is necessary to guide integration of business and operational functions and facilitate participation of technical communities. A team of multi-disciplinary experts that considers synergistic directions and articulates key interoperability principles, can facilitate transformational GridWise changes.

PNNL has led the effort to form an independent body, with broad multi-industry representation, recognized and respected thought leaders and the capacity to understand and contribute to technical fundamentals surrounding GridWise.

The GridWise Architecture Council engages stakeholder experts to develop the principles and conceptual framework that facilitate multi-party, multi-device interoperability consistent with the GridWise vision of a transformed energy system. The members are key actors in stimulating cross-industry relationships and aligning broad industry mindshare behind these principles and framework.

With the support of DOE's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, GridWise activities at PNNL are a prime mover behind the Architecture Council:

Forming the GridWise Architecture Council
Assisting them in administrative and organizational needs
Providing technical support as requested
Enabling strong, productive liaisons with other key stakeholders.
